That might not help. The ping is sometimes blocked by routers and/or
firewalls. He might have to talk to the comms group at his school. They
may have opened up a port to/from that other site that works. He may have
to get them to open up a port for him. They may not want to. Is this a
common thing for students/staff to do at that school?
