Yes, I am scanning successfully with a HP scanjet 5300C(usb), but I
installed it with SCSI emulation because I was unable to do it as USB
scanner (although it has native support by SANE-libusb). Try to update to
KDE 3.2.3; it includes a new version of kdegraphics3-scan.
