I have an electronic switch (Protec Bytelan). Using the switch messes up
Linux, but not OS/2 or Windows. While the problem happens in both Red Hat
7.3 and SuSE 9.1, in Red Hat, I can recover by switching to a text console
and back. This does not work in SuSE 9.1. This means that what's an
annoyance in RH becomes a show stopper in SuSE 9.1. It sounds to me, as
though the problem is in Linux and particularly in SuSE 9.1. Also, when
using RH, I found disabling Z axis cleared the problem. I haven't tried
that in SuSE. Perhaps we should be looking at the differences, when Z axis
is enabled?
