No... You don't have to do anything but let the installation create the
boot floppy-disk. In Windows ME I think the easiest way to restore the
original MBR (if it has already been changed) is by the command 'fdisk
/mbr' in DOS-mode. - You could also check whether your computer is able
to boot from the slave-drive, this is set up in BIOS and some computers
can, some cannot. - Then you can install the MBR without changing
anything at all on your Windows harddisk.

As far as I have heard the only major problem with the SuSE installation
has been when you try to resize a NTFS-partition, but I have not yet
heard anything about lost data or problems on FAT32-partitions.
Personally I have never tried to resize NTFS or FAT32-partitions under
Linux. - These filesystems belong to Windows and it is better to resize
them under Windows. Similarly I would never change the size of
Linux-partitions under Windows (even though it is possible with
Partition Magic (at least for ext2, ext3 and swap)).
