COnnect to internet on startup?

Is there a way to get Suse 9.1 to connect to the net at startup?
I have a DSL connection that when I set to "dial on demand" still does not
always connect (using KInternet) - like for the system updates, etc...
I can't find a startup option for KInternet that includes 'connect' or
something similar, so I am wondering what other options there are, how to
accomplish this?

Thanks!
