I have never had to install the nVidia drivers manually. During the install
on my machines, when doing the first patching I get offered to install the
nVidia drivers and accept, this works and gives me 3D support. What is the
advantage of installing the drivers manually?
(I haven't found any issues with the default drivers that are installed via
YOU.)
