Thanks
When accepting the yast hdb1 entries, it always came back with
'none of the changes entered have been accepted'
So very tactfully it was saying i did not know what I was doing.....
(can't argue with that)
I seem to be screwing up a lot just lately (!) learning a lot though. I
dont think I would be learning as fast if I was not trying things.....
My efforts resulted in something serious enough to prevent a normal
(via CD) boot and it went into text mode. It is a new installation, with
(deliberately) no data and since I really don't know enough at this
stage to find my way out of what looks like a file system error, I
decided to re install. From dvd it is fairly quick, and even the updates
are not bad.
This time I will install suse onto the second HD, leaving the supposedly
damaged suse in the first HD (next to a win partition) so that I can
maybe trouble shoot soon - if it is simple for me - or I will install
another test PC (old PII) and add a small extra HD to do it right next
time!
