This is kind of a follow up to a previous post regarding Konqueror rebooting
Suse when Konqueror opens up.
Here is my hardware setup:
Dell PowerEdge Server 2200
512 Mb Ram
10 GB SCSI HardDrive - Seagate ST1917W
Adaptec SCSI Card - AIC 7800
Duel Pentium II 300 Mhz Processor
I installed SuSe using United Linux. The machine appears to boot up with no
error messages indicative of hardware issues. The login screen will
eventually appear as it boots to KDE. Within 3-5 minutes of boot up
completion, the entire system will restart and continue in a maddening
cycle.
Have another PE2200, except it is not a dual processor. Every piece of
hardware is the same. I run the install, goes through OK until the end when
there errors in the log. When the system boots up, it finds the operating
system not found.
Unless there is some sort of hardware incompatibility (i'm thinking as it
relates to the SCSI drives), these are perfectly fine machines. Netware 5.1
was running on one of them a while back as our main server, NT on the other,
then both later served as Win2K DNS servers with no problems.
Any help one can give will be appreciated.
Thanks!
JM
