IF you are having trouble with SuSE 9.1 and your Logitech MX500 mouse,
I did the following and everything worked fine:

1. Open YAST
2. In YAST go to "Hardware > Select Mouse Model"
3. Select: "Intellimouse Explorer (ps2)"
4. Accept it and have fun.

Now I know that the MX500 is a USB mouse and we just selected the
"ps2" mouse in YAST, but don't worry -- it works. :)
