I prefer editing the config files by hand, so I don't tend to use a
graphical tool for Samba, but SWAT should be installed, accessible through
a web-browser, so you should be able to administer it remotely... Also try
installing Webmin (the version on the 9.1 DVD is broken, go to
www.webmin.com). This provides easy access to Samba and many other common
server processes which can be run under Linux.
It isn't a total solution to not learning how to use the config files and
CLI commands, but it helps with the basic configuration of the system and
can get you started.
