I've been managing hundreds of Win2K and XP boxes since the OS hit the
street and have never found anyone that's had to do this. The only
explanation that I can think of is that you have a flakey
install/hardware or that you have some form of virus on your machine. I
ran Windows 2K on a overused workstation for many years and never had a
single problem with it - not even a BSOD. The only time I have to edit
the registry is when someone gets compromised by spyware.
