wireless doesn't get dns, wired does

I am trying to set up a second laptop's wireless with SuSE 9.1. I
already have one laptop (IBM) working perfectly. I believe I've set up
everything identically to the working laptop, but I still can't get to
the Internet with the new laptop's wireless. Here are the details:

Cable Internet to wired Linksys router with Linksys WAP. I've set the
WAP to accept the MAC address of the new laptop.
New laptop is Compaq Presario X1000 w/Intel PRO 2100
SuSE 9.1 with all current updates, no firewall, no WEP (for now).

The Compaq's wireless card is seen by SuSE, drivers are loaded, and it
gets an IP address from the router. Connection is very strong. If I
keep the ethernet plugged in on startup, I get an IP address for eth0
and a second one for eth1 (wireless). I can get to the Internet
perfectly with ethernet. If I restart with no ethernet, I get the
192.168.1.xxx IP address for the wireless card and can ping the router
and the WAP, but no Internet.

The settings for hostname, gateway, dns (get via dhcp, but I've also
manually entered in the same settings that work on the IBM and also the
desktop machine) all look identical to me in all machines.

I'm sorry, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with the dns
for the wireless part. Aside from the different hardware of course, it
looks to me like all the settings are identical on both laptops. I'd
appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks so much,

Malke
