Dualhead in 9.1 With mga400

I have just installed SuSE 9.1 on a dual AMD MP2000+ system.

I cannot get dualhead working with my Matrox g400 max. I had it working
on a Mandrake distro - but that didn't recognise my mouse. Having
changed to SuSE I have a mouse but no dualhead!

SuSE has a later version of XFree and Matrox drivers stop at XFree
4.3.0.

I have been Googling away this afternoon, found articles like 'getting
your mg400 singing and dancing' but they all relate to earlier versions
of XFree.

Any suggestions anybody? Can you point me to more up to date
instructions?

Failing that what would be involved in taking off XFree 4.3.99.902 and
dropping back to an earlier version - or is that asking the impossible?

Any guidance would be appreciated.
