Yeah, we know that one.
It is often, it seems to me, mistaken for a licence to abuse people for
being ignorant.
Ignorant, in its turn, of the fact that we were all ignorant once.
I don't feather-bed people in the Oracle groups, either. In fact, I can be
down-right harsh about making people research their problems. But that's
different from biting people's heads off the second they dare to put it
over the parapet.
There's a lot of that which happens in Linux groups. It shouldn't be that
way. A good balance is hard to find, but worth striving for.
