postfix and kmail setup on suse 9.1

I have an old PC that I use as my mail server. It's been running RH 8 so
far. On my main PC I use suse 9.1. The combination has been worksing all
right. I decided to upgrade my old PC to suse 9.1 it all went all right and
I can see that postfix and ipop is running but I can't login and read my
mail. I get AUTHENTICATION error. I take that has something to do with
ipop3d and imapd certification. I'd be very grateful if some one could
point me in right direction.
