No, you are not wrong. Because you have upgraded the packages to unsupported
versions (for your distribution), YOU will not be able to update them, it
will still be looking to add security updates to KDE 3.1 and Kernel 2.4,
therefore if there are security updates for these packages, you (note
little letters ;-) ) will be responsible for the updates.
