Hi,
I baught the new MX-1000 Mouse from Logitech. Its a great piece of
Hardware: The first Laser / Wireless Mouse. Its working fine with SuSE
9.1.
It needs very little power and there is NO reaction time if you start
moving it again after a while.
But: no support for
additional buttons.
So, I phoned Logitech and asked for Linux drivers.
I: Our company plans to switch from Microsoft mice to Logitech.
Logitech: THats great, congratulations ...
I: ...but we recently switched to SuSE Linux because of all these security
issues in Windows. So we need Linux drivers for Logitechs mice.
Where can we get them. Funny enough: we could not find them on your
download page!
L: Er... Logitech does not support any Linux and won't do
this in next future.
I: Thats a pity because everybody nowadays thinks about to change to a
modern operating system, such as SuSE...
Not just us.
L: We only support Microsoft Windows
and Apple Macintosh.
I: I see, so we have to look for other hardware
suppliers.
L: If you need drivers they will be available from the Linux
Community. Sooner or later. We are sorry.
I would suggest that any of you who has a Logitech product should fall on
their nerves and keep asking for driver support.
