Help. My dial-up connection can't handle the MASSIVE files for Suse
updates. So I download at work, or at college, then try to install from
stick memory.
I can't get Yast to install from anywhere other than online. The other
install option doesn't look anywhere except a preset list. (Or it wants
"*.sel" files)
I tried rpm -U (path) (filename)
It seems to install the kdebase3 update, but when i go to online update
the next time, the online update wants to download the same version that
I just installed. (It reports the version such as 4.4.1-78 or whatever
the numbers are, shows it was installed today, then shows THE SAME
VERSION for download. Even worse, it won't let me remove the big damn
file from the download list.]
How do I install the packages from the stick memory so that Yast
ackowledges them and doesn't keep them on the download update list?
Thanks -this shouldn't be so hard to do.
