When I print a letter from KDE office, it prints on my HP4L
laserjet with added numbers and letters in the left margin.
It also prints dotted lines in a few places on the page.
If I print the same document using my deskjet, it prints
fine. Printing a test page in YAST produces the same results.

I assume these extra characters are some of the control codes
that linux is sending to the printer. How do I change the
software to suppress these characters?

I am using SUSE 9.1 with all current updates. I didn't have
this problem with Mandrake 10.0. Arent't these basically the
same printer programs - Cups and foomatic? Whats different?

Thanks for your help.
