I also have a 515 and have no problems (now) syncing. The trick is
locating the correct usb port to configure jpilot (I prefer J to the
others, but this holds for all of them).

The trick is, the usb port DOES NOT EXIST until AFTER you have pressed
the sync button on the (connected to the computer) palm cradle..

1) Configure jpilot to use /dev/ttyUSB0. Press the sync button on the
cradle. Press the sync button on jpilot.
2) Does it work? Yes:Done, no -
3) Abort the sync, increment /dev/ttyUSBx in jpilot, press the sync
button. Goto step 2.

If the number of the ttyUSB port relates to ANYTHING in the hardware,
I cannot find what. My palm is in the 2nd USB port on my motherboard
and uses USB1. My wifes is in the 4th port and uses USB2. Go figure.
