Celeron performance under linux

I am purchasing a new workstation for home use and decided to switch from
windows to suse personal. I am thinking of a Celeron processor in order to
save money. Will that affect my performance in anyway? All I will do on this
machine is use openoffice, a browser, and a shell a bit. Thanks.
