Hi All:
With the reported support for Centreno (sp) and all, I've been thinking
about getting a notebook computer and loading SuSE 9.2 on it instead of
going the Mac route (was thinking about a 12" powerbook)
I'm fairly Linux/SuSE savvy, comfortoable configuring things, etc. but
I'd still like to find something that is "Linux friendly", rather than
"nope -that won't work never has, never will". I was wondering what
notebook/laptop vendors have been good for folks in the past? I've done
OK with Toshibas and IBM Txx in the past. Looking specifically for
something that has a good reputation, w/SuSE 9.1, in hopes of getting a
"PowerBook killer" together.
Things desired (in decending order of importance)
- Linux (preferably SuSE) "friendly"
- must have a KILLER battery life
- built-in 802.11g
- price
- speed
- HD space
I'd be ok with getting something new, but comodity used stuff is a plus.
Any thoughts?
TIA
~bc
