he, like me, has no floppy drive on his laptop. So how does he do a network
install without a floppy and a cd drive??? The only suggestion I would have
would be to try a USB CD drive and see if you can set the BIOS to boot from
that medium. Then use the CD image provided on the web for a net install
rather than the floppy image set.
I don't believe booting from a USB floppy would work as you would have to
make sure the USB drivers were compiled into the kernel and not loaded in
after swapping floppies for the modules disk...
At least my laptop has a built in DVD drive, so it doesn't affect me.
