crap of setting it up, installing applications, hardware, peripherals,

WTF is a cmd-line?
A command line is for system admins and software hobbyists, not the
vast majority of modern home users.

If the OS worked properly, ordinary home users would NEVER have to use
a console. But hey, you have a vested interest in OSs staying crap,
because you'd be out of work.
