Pan on Suse

I recently moved from RedHat to Suse and would like to use the Pan
newsreader. It requires the use of GNet library. I cannot find a GNet
RPM for Suse, so I downloaded the source. It will not compile as the
configure script cannot determine the type of system to build. I do
have the libraries that GNet needs already installed. Does anyone know
how to get this to compile? What about an installable binary for GNet
for Suse?

Thanks
