Dave, but of a problem. I added the Yast source, and I'm having some
trouble with Yast. I got qdvdauthor OK but messing around with it, but I
don't understand Yast. I'd been downloaded all these packages as rpms over
the year from the Suse site, and in Yast, they all showed as protected with
the LOCK icon.

I figured that since I'd installed newer versions NOT using Yast, it
considered them untouchable. So...I changed them ALL to Update, with the
Yast source pointing at Packman, and it seemed to install them. However,
after it was all done, while qdvdauthor was installed, as were the new xine
libraries (see original post), all those packages that were marked LOCKED
are still marked LOCKED. Shouldn't things now be in sync?

Also, how do you go about updating everything from the Packman site using
Yast? On the Selections Screen, there is no separate Packman entry, for
which I can click "All in this list --> Update if newer version?". So, how
do I keep the newest Packman files up to date?

Thanks

Harry
