My 1Ghz laptop has only 384MB, but that runs quite well. It doesn't need the
swap for normal tasks and KDE runs at an acceptable speed. As the rest of
the network is running at 2Ghz+ (equivalent speed, all AMD Athlon's -
XP2000+ is the slowest), it seems a bit of a dog, but the waiting isn't
that bad, and once an app is up-and-running, it responds reasonably
quickly.
