|Just got broadband (using a netgear adsl router) but whenever I now try to
|send emails I get the message:
|
|The server responded: "sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
|rcpthosts (#5.7.1)")
I assume this is not your server or you would have more of a clue. You
don't even say what mail client you are using: Kmail, thunderbird,
evolution, piece of string?
|If I return to normal dial-up the emails get sent OK.
Sounds like you are trying to use your dialup provider's SMTP server
from broadband. As far as they are concerned, you are J. Random Spammer,
trying to use their mail server to relay since you are not coming in
from one of their networks. If you are on broadband, then you should use
your broadband provider's SMTP server. Any decent mail client will allow
you to create and use different profiles.
