Maybe, perhaps the update could check via some mechanism and then only
display this message if you are indeed running Lilo.
It's a bit of a problem, basically the way Lilo works if you change the
kernel image then you really should rerun Lilo so that it can reread it's
configuration data and relocate the image file on your filesystem. Failure
to do this can result in a system that is unable to boot.
Trouble is that if you are running the default bootloader in SuSE of Grub,
not only do you not need to do this but it could actually be quite
dangerous to do so. If Lilo is available and has a valid configuration file
it will actually overwrite the master boot record and next time you boot
your boot loader will have changed.
