Hi,

I've installed 9.2 and have it working and looking just about as i desire.

However, i notice that unless i use 'eSOUND' in the play options within the
audio-configuration panel of amaroke (or xmms) (which appears to use some
sort of software control over the audio, thus taking up CPU time) then the
sound is distorted. It's like when you play something too harsh over cheap
speakers, it's not buzzing, but the sound is very saturated.

Unfortunately, i have an MSI 6715 board with integrated ac97 sound, formally
RealTek corp, but they got taken over I'm sure a year or so ago, so it
comes under another brand. Anyway, being MSI, i don't think suse 9.2 is too
chuffed with it, and i'm not sure how to improve the sound quality in
general. It works fine when i run XP, and the hardware features of it are
supported (it is a chip on the mobo afterall, and appears to have some
hardware facility for buffering, possibly?)

I'm new to linux and apart from my logitech internet explorer keys not
working (tried lineak, have some probs with it is there an easier method?)
and my intellimouse explorer usb mouse's left&right side buttons not
working (also tried configuring it in x86config, but no joy as of yet) 9.2
seems pretty good.

Anyway, sound-issue, if resolvable would be very useful, as in all programs
using sound the sound is pretty saturated, don't want it damaging my
amp/speakers.
