The motherboard should be fine, as Mark says, he has one, another friend
also has one and it works fine under SuSE 9.2 64-bit. The other friend had
problems getting his video card to dual-head, but apart from that it ran
fine.

Sounds like the sound chip works (sorry ;-) ), although I found with my A8V
motherboard, when under heavy load in Windows, the sound used to break up,
so I bought a dedicated sound card (Audigy 2ZS) and it works perfectly and
also gave a marinal performance boost.

The RAID built into the motherboard is, as far as I know a WinRAID, not full
hardware RAID, so will probably not work under Linux (normally a RAID
controller will cost more than a motherboard, so when you have a
motherboard with integrated RAID, then there is probably something
missing). You can give it a go, but if it doesn't work, you can just use a
Linux Software RAID when installing SuSE.

I agree with Mark, going the GeForce route is probably going to cause less
problems. I have a FX5900XT card in this machine and it works fine, the
other machines have a variety of nVidia cards as well (GeForce 4 Ti4600,
MX420, FX5700LE) and all have worked without problems, ATi cards seem to be
harder to set-up and cause more problems from the posts I've read.

I have a pair of LG DVD burners in my machine, one single, one dual) and
they work fine. If it is standard ATAPI, there shouldn't be any suprises...
