Thanks for the reply. The cable signal is good on the regular TV & there
are no known interferences. I think the problem relates to the HD-3000
HDTV PCI card being new (see http://www.pcHDTV.com ) and the Suse
drivers actually needed are not there yet. The solution probably
involves getting the right driver (preferably as an RPM to install with
Yast) & the right settings. I haven't tried Fedora but did try Windows
2000 with no success. Suse 9.2 is what I currently use for everything.

Are you getting a clear picture when the cable is plugged into a real TV
using the same cable? (i.e. is the antenna pointing in exactly the right
direction? are you sure there is no interference affecting the signal,
either externally or in the cable? Trees in the line of sight of the
antenna for example, adverse weather conditions, power cables running
next to the antenna cable as it runs through the house)

Have you had the card working in this machine with previous versions of
SuSE?

Have you tried it with Red hat/Fedora? (The page says that it requires
RH9 or FC1 or 2)

A snowy screen either means that you need to attempt fine tuning of the
channel (it is a fraction out, I don't know how you would fine tune the
signal), the incoming signal is too weak (have you tried putting a
signal booster in line with the antenna cable - I used to live in a
valley in England and without a signal booster, we never got a clear
picture, the antenna on the roof just couldn't get a clear-line-of-site
to the relay tower). Here in Germany, I live in a valley in the middle
of a forest, we only get satellite here...

Also, where the cable runs through the house from the roof, it could
pick up interference from other electronic equipment if it is laid too
close to power cables, or something which gives off strong electronic
interference sits against the wall the cable runs through - speakers,
electric cookers, microwaves come to mind, CRT monitors as well - just
make sure the cable doesn't go too near anything else electric if you
can help it - try turning off everything that isn't essential while
testing, if the picture clears up, then the interference is in the house.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but unfortunately, we don't use the
American Never The Same Colours standard, we use the Perfectly Aligned
to Linux standard :-P
