I would first try not to reinstall everything.
I've more than once put my harddrives from one computer to another and Suse
managed to detect all changes.
Might be the graphic card that is problematic, so start in single user mode
(type linux single at the boot prompt) and then if this works, start Sax2
to configure the graphic card. If it still doesn't work try removing every
device (usb, pci cards...) to identify the culprit.
