Ok, ive been misunderstood. GO EASY ON ME I really dont understand what i
am doing...
I have winxp PRO machine that has a hp 7130xi all in one printer hooked up
to it via usb cable. The computer has 1 (one) nic card that's attached to
a belkin router, which is attached to a cable modem that is hooked up to a
cable company which assigns this windows machine a new ip address
everytime the computer is turned off and turned on again (dhcp).
My second and most beloved machine has Suse 9.2 professional on it. My
suse box has 1 (one) nic card attached to the same belkin router as the
windows box. this suse box also gets a new ip address every time i turn it
off and turn it on again (dhcp).
All i want to do is print using the same hp 7130xi printer thats hooked up
to the windows machine AND understand how this stuff works in simple, easy
to understand, bonehead language.
There's software that came with the printer that is heavely used on the
windows box that prohibits me from connecting the printer directly to my
suse box.
I have found a lot of literature on making the windows box a client, but
little documentation on having suse as client.
Windows box sees suse and suse sees windows but thats about it. In talking
to my son about windows, he says there's probebly services not started in
suse. He knows nothing about linux.
So i need your help please....
Point me in the right direction....thanx jorge'
