Quicktime is a container format, just like AVI. Thus, Quicktime is capable
of handling various formats of digital video, sound, text and immersive
virtual reality panoramic images. Most Quicktime movies available on the
web use the Sorenson video codec, though.

Perhaps the most user-friendly is Konverter:
