1. With some EXTENSIVE searching, I know that at least one person explains the VERY
complicated procedure for creating a 32-bit only single layer DVD. But I didn't
save the link... why? Read on...
2. It's not worth $60 of my time to implement #1 when for the same price I can get
a dual layer DVD burner (retail ones will come with at least one DL sample media) and
make a copy of the whole thing.
I chose option #2. I now have a backup copy of SUSE 9.2's DVD. I used
a NEC 3500A.... might be a booktype issue with using DL media in some DVD
units (I have an Aopen that doesn't recognize DVD-RW-DL... there's no
easy way to flash an AOpen from Linux to add the support). Most of my other
DVD units managed to cope with the copy just fine though.
