Xerox is another one of those manufacturers that has little regard for
Linux. Some models work ok, because they have PostScript support and the
rest are just really good boat anchors.
Best advice: just keep searching the web and hope someone cobbles
together a more complete PPD (if that's possible). Or sell it to a
Windows-using friend and buy a good PostScript printer -- I like the
Samsung ML-1740 Laser, cost me $99 at Best Buy after a $50 rebate . . .
