I've just played around in KDE Control Center (assuming you're using KDE
of course) and can't seem to find a setting that will start programs
minimized. Is there a chance you set this on several programs in their
settings section? Or do all windows do it?
When you open one of these programs, go ahead and maximize it then right
click on the title bar. Look around and experiment with some of those
settings to see if anything helps.
Sorry I can't be more help -- can't seem to duplicate your problem. Is
there *any* chance you can remember any more detail about what you might
have done, leading up to this?
