I was at a site that was asking for Flash and I clicked on the link to
install it without thinking. Ever since, I've been getting the following
when trying to start either Firefox or Mozilla
wayne@linux:~> firefox
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library libXt.so [libXt.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6
[/usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No suchfile or
directory]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library libXext.so [libXext.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6
[/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory]
Segmentation fault
The thing is that /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 and /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6
both do exist - they just point to libXt.so.6.0 and libXext.so.6.4.
Any ideas what to do here?
Thanks,
Wayne
