sata drives

Hi
I've had a problem with suse 9.2 detecting an sata drive that I have
installed. I want to be able to dual boot without having to change the
boot disk order in the bios every time I need to access that other os. I
have suse installed on an ide drive set as master, the sata is also set as
master. Can anyone help me with this one.
