Hi,
as http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2004/05/91_sysconfig.html
describes since Suse 9.1 there is no possibility to manage
the NIC interfece names eth0 ... ethn through alias lines
in /etc/modules.conf.
Yet still after reading this article I don't know how to make
my onboard Ethernet interface to be always eth0. I sometimes
add another NIC and than pull it out and as a consequence
onboard NIC becames eth1 and all scripts referencing eth0
by iptables must be changed and turned back again each time.
best,
zbyszek
