Hello,

some days ago I posted about a problem with openoffice, wich isn't starting
any more with some glibc error messages. Due to a tip by jmt in that
thread, I was fiddeling arround with the MALLOC_CHECK_ environment
variable. Unfortunately this did'nt lead me to a way to start any version
of OpenOffice.org again, but I got new error messages! So I'm still hoping,
that someone of you out there may be able to help me, I for myself did'nt
find any helping information by google.

Here is what I get trying to start ooffice (and failing) with
$MALLOC_CHECK_=1 or 3:

malloc: using debugging hooks
malloc: using debugging hooks
malloc: using debugging hooks
malloc: using debugging hooks
malloc: using debugging hooks
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x0839e8d0 ***
*** glibc detected *** malloc: top chunk is corrupt: 0x0839f960 ***

I don't know what to do, so help is very apreciated, since I still don't
want to reinstall the complete system just because of one program not
starting any more.

Thank you very much in advance,
Claudius
