My #1 son uses a Dell C400 for past year. Currently on 9.2. Takes it to
engineering classes. Connects all over campus & at home;

My #2 son uses SuSE 9.2 on a Dell CPx - a slow PII-500 (when he uses it
for more than to find Nintendo & Playstation cheat codes, I may get him a
better unit. <g>)

I use SuSE 9.2 on a Dell C840 (2.2MHx/1GB). Since some customers have
Windows-only requirements, I have an extra hard drive and caddy - swap
back and forth 'tween Windows and Linux simply by swapping the caddy
(easier, as I stay in an environment for several hours).

I exchange files with customer and between Win and Linux using a 256M USB
flash drive. Also use a Logitech wireless-USB mouse. Do all my
presentations and writing in OOorg. Have a 4-port hi speed USB hub
connected & connect a Kyocera 7135 'smart phone' with built-in Palm
Pilot via USB as well. (There's a USB conflict between Kyocera and Flash
drive - but that's not Linux' fault as it also happens in Windows.)

I've been working out of town for the past month, based in a hotel with
only wireless access. Nary a problem on the C840. But the Windows-only
Canon Pixma USB printer, requires a commercial TurboPrint driver to run in
Linux - that's my stupidity.

All laptops have either DWL-AG660 or WPC54G, although the WPC is wrapped
using LinuxAnt's DriverLoader which cost a few $. I was happy to pay for
the DriverLoader 'cause it's made my life very, very simple.

I know several colleagues have been quite happy with their IBM units.
