Mouse and Keyboard Lockup

Got Suse 9.2 and KDE 3.4 installed . Everything has worked well for the past
few days. Today when I boot up
the system into Linux , the computer makes it through the initial startup
into the KDE desktop screen then the mouse and keyboard
all of a sudden lockup. I tried using the inital Suse Installation disk to
to see if any files have been corrupted. Everything there
looks OK. So I'm at a stand still. Is there a quick fix I can work through
to get it back up and running? Any help
would be appreciated.
