HP Laserjet 5 printing problem

Hi,
I'm having problems with a HP LaserJet 5. I'm running Suse9.1. Printing from kmail usually works fine, but when I try to print from Mozilla or OOffice, problems occur.
Sometimes it prints only a single line of special characters in the middle of the page, sometimes I get undefinable output at the top. Sometimes it prints hours or days later although the job has already disappeared from the queue. I'm using cups and have tried the hpijs and lj5mono drivers, both with the same problems. Does anybody have an idea?
