I have the LaserJet 5L. When I first installed SuSE 9.1 I had problems with
it and my HP DeskJet 500C printer. In fact I couldn't get them to print at
all. Being on a dual boot computer and switching back and forth several
times a day, one day when I booted into Linux the printers started printing
all the things that never got printed before. I had to change the A4 paper
size several times to letter before the printers finally accepted that
option. I believe that prior to that I changed the driver to what I am
using now. It is the HP LaserJet 5L Foomatic/ljet4 driver. It seems to
work fine for me.
