We still have a psion5 in regular use, and somehow have acquired a
laptop without a serial port (it was a good idea at the time). A bit
like old meets new........
I have a USB gismo cable which plugs into the USB port and has a serial
connector the other end. It physically mates with the psion serial
cable which would normally be used for psion-to-pc communications.
The usb-to-serial is recognised by yast, but I have no useful idea about
what may also need configuring. The usb does not seem configurable.
The psion end expects serial related speed values, and I do not know
what can be done next.
I installed kpsion and a few psion related tools from suse CD, but I
suspect the usb to serial must complicate things.
The objective is to use a laptop for copying psion files as a backup
method when travelling around, but this may be a bit impractical.
Comments would be appreciated.
