1. DHCP
2. Pinging produces instantaneous response by IP, never tried host name.
Running the diagnostics on the DSL routerproduces the following results:
Pinging a remote server works fairly rapidly. Doing a traceroute resluts
in a fast response from the nearest downstream (ISP) server. Trying to get
OUT of the ISP server and hop times out.
Using KInternet, there is no DNS server listed until I do a refresh, then
the DNS server ip appears.

Hmm...when I loaded SUSE it saw the DSL router, but didn't configure it. I
had to do that manually, but is worked, and worked faster then Windows!
The more use it gets, the slower it goes.

Yep. What I have to do is boot Windows first. Once I boot into Windows and
run for a little while (check E-Mail, etc), shut down and then reboot
Linux, performance is great. The next time I boot right into Linux is a
crap shoot, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...
