It's because the temperature sensor 2 on my Winbond 83627hf chip always
outputs 69 C. The CPU temp is on sensor 3. Editing sensors.conf I can
get the temperatures and CPU fan to match the BIOS setup display:
# sensors
w83627hf-isa-0290
Adapter: ISA adapter
...
fan1: 1360 RPM (min = 664 RPM, div = 8)
sys temp: +27°C (high = +50°C, hyst = +45°C) sensor = thermistor
CPU temp: +27.5°C (high = +60°C, hyst = +55°C) sensor = thermistor
But that doesn't fix ACPI. What I want to do is control the fan. So now
2 questions:
1 Can I get ACPI to use temp3 for /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature ?
2 How can I switch the CPU fan off?
echo -n 3 > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN/state doesn't do it (maybe because it
thinks the CPU is too hot)
Any suggestions?
Dave
