Good question. I got exactly the same behavior.

As a fix, I created a new profile, and saw that the bookmark folders are
named differently. However, I couldn't just rename the folders in the old
profile to get a fix. I'm currently using the new profile, having imported
the bookmarks from the old one. However, there are other problems...

The biggest one revolves around being unable to use or update the themes and
extensions. There are still some tweaks I can do, but you're right... this
is frustrating.
